Salvation

GOD LOVES YOU, ALWAYS!  HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM AND LOVE HIM BACK.

First, you must know that God loves you and He desires a closer relationship with you. Every human is born in a state that separates him or her from God but He desires relationship with everyone who will receive His Son, Jesus. We all need God’s grace and mercy.

God loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus to die for our sins and imperfections. Jesus was punished so that we would not have to experience God’s punishment for our sin. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we can experience God’s unconditional and never-ending love for us as He intended in the beginning.

By accepting that Jesus is the way to know God’s love you can begin a relationship with God. It is truly a step of faith that you are invited to take today. It is easy to begin a relationship with God; you’re invited to talk to Him (pray). You can pray words like these:

“Father, thank you for loving me. I ask your forgiveness for things that have not pleased you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again on the third day. Please come into my life, be my Lord and my Savior. I receive you Jesus, I am born again and I am saved.” Thank you Jesus, Amen.

What’s Next?
• Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
• Pray and read your Bible daily.
• Trust God who has power to change things.
• Find a local church where you can grow and worship God.

Baptism

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Water Baptism is a biblical ordinance given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. The word “baptism” comes from the Greek word “baptizo” which means to plunge into, submerge, to sink, thrust under, immerse, or soak. At Agapé we believe in full-submergence water baptism.

Water Baptism is an act of obedience that is subsequent to or before the New Birth (salvation) experience. The way to become a Christian or Christ follower is by receiving Jesus Chrsit as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9, 10). Water Baptism is an outward sign of the inward grace of salvation. It represents that we have died to sin and self, and we now live new in Him.

At Agapé, we usually offer two opportunities during the year to be baptized. If you would like to participate in the next Water Baptism ceremony, please complete the form.

Baby Dedication

Do you have a baby or a child to dedicate to the Lord?  We’ve made the process more available and accessible for you.

When?

Baby/child dedications are held every 3rd Sunday at the end of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. services.  You can register your child by completing the form below or in-person at the reception desk if you are on campus.

What is Baby or Child Dedication?

According to Psalm 127:3, children are a gift from God. There is no greater moment in time when this truth is more realized by parents than at the birth of their child. Understanding this truth, we believe that presenting and dedicating a child to God is for Christian parents but we welcome any parent desiring to dedicate a child.

Baby Dedication is a biblical practice. We read in the Gospel according to Luke (Luke 2:22-33) that the parents of Jesus dedicated Him unto the Lord on the eighth day as the Law had prescribed (Leviticus 12:1-4). Also in the Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 19:13-14), we read about how people brought their little ones to Jesus so that He might place His hands on them and pray for them.

What will happen at the Baby or Child Dedication?

Following the biblical example of Jesus, during our Baby Dedication Service, the Pastor prays and lays hands on each and every child pronouncing the Blessing of God upon their lives. Parents are  publicly acknowledging that their child is the inheritance of God and pledge before Him and His people to bring up their child in the nurture and guidance of the Lord.  The service will include applying anointing oil on the head of the child and parents. A certificate will be given or mailed to the parents after the dedication.

I am a single parent. May I still dedicate my child?

Absolutely!

Who should we invite to the dedication service?

The dedication service is a very special time, so be sure to invite your family and friends.  There is no limit on the number of  guests you may invite.

Is there a cost for the dedication?

No. It is our honor to serve in this way.

Do I have to be a member of Agapé Christian Ministries to participate in the Baby/Child Dedication?

No, we receive all who desire to dedicate a child.
